StickyProjects was a startup born from half the team of MediaQuake and some of our friends. We launched PigeonMe in Augest 2011.

It often happens with small startups that you have to take time away from your core product and take on other projects to pay the bills. Techniq Consulting was a small consultancy made up of myself and one of the MediaQuake partners. We took on a few odd jobs while we worked on BuzzVoice and PigeonMe.

MediaQuake is the second “official” startup of which I’ve been a part. MediaQuake’s flagship product: BuzzVoice, is a text-to-voice platform focused on transforming blogs posts to mp3s for listening on mobile devices.

A desktop application for reading the Oklahoman, Oklahoma’s largest state-wide paper.
Kord, the chief muckymuck, often described Zoto as “Flickr for Soccer moms.” The service was a direct competitor with Flickr and Sumgmug. It was a brave fight, but in the end the doors closed although the site is still sometimes up and running. The codebase was eventually open sourced.

The USAF contracted with Boeing who contracted with Delaware Resource Group who… you get the idea. This was an eLearning gig. I was responsible for building interactive templates that courseware designers could use to build new material.

My tenure at AOL was a great time. Say what you like about the service and the way it was managed (and you’re probably right), the people I worked with were wonderful and its the job that got me started programming.
