Bedlam Nation: Crimson and Orange
Bedlam Nation: Crimson and Orange were two sports oriented iPhone apps featuring the University of Oklahoma Sooners (Crimson), and the Oklahoma State University Cowboys (Orange) during the 2009 college football season. Fans could check their team’s roster, game schedules, player statistics, get the latest team news from the Oklahoman, watch video podcasts etc.
The apps were powered by a cron server-side process that downloaded xml feeds from a vendor, parsed them and made them available via an API built with CakePHP.
Sadly, we had to make cuts due to time constraints and legal wranglings over whether we could include a feature that played the team fight songs.
A point of interest: Interface Builder was not used to construct the UI of the apps.
